a lot of people ask me, as a writer of all sorts of music, "what type of music does dom listen to?" let me be clear. i listen to every genre of music. that being said, this is my fav 5 and why:

5. wale - this guy crept up on my top 5 list fast for his lyrical content. he's not just another rapper. he is a true street poet. 5 stars!!! somebody tell a friend to tell wale that we need him to come to our city too. we got some kids here that need some words of wisdom.

4. t.i. - impeccable swag. consistently on the chart list. you gotta respect the effort he puts into each and every album.
3. kanye west - i can't pick against fam but that's not the only reason why he's on the list. he's the buzz all over the world and a definite crossover threat. i dont care what anyone says about this guy. my favorite karaoke song comes from "heartbreak and 808s"..."robocop"!
2. chamillionaire - king of the south, especially in the mixtape game. anytime he is challenged, he steps to the mic and delivers perfection. you gotta give props to a guy when he released an entire album without cussing or using the n-word in spite of what oprah said. genius!
1. j.a.y. - anyone that can switch from hip-hop to r&b without losing street credit is a winner to me. outside the fact he's my little brother, the punch lines he presents make him a champ at a very young age.

the fiery furnace felt around the world...well across america anyway. the mysterious fire seemed to pique the interest of the media kings at tmz. although they let their imaginations get the best of them by suggesting that a certain movie started the fire, it was cool to see that took a second look at a piece of history that had been with tulsa since the 50's. (we all know aliens started the fire)

Help Dom Help Kids

hey peeps, sponsors, and parents,

I often volunteer at C.A.R.D. Headstart in Broken Arrow, OK located at Southside Elementary and recently I read my children's book The Restless Little Bunny and the Missing Sun to the children in Southside 6 (a 3 year old classroom). It was a hit and many of the children wanted to take the book home. Word has spread to the other classrooms and now I am getting requests from all the 3 year old classrooms and 4 year old classrooms of Southside Elementary! This inspired my quest to make the book available for all of the children and teachers of Southside Elementary and many others in the Tulsa area. My goal is 500 books for 500 kids and teachers. I believe this is very achievable with financial assistance from sponsors right here in Oklahoma. Early reading is vital to a successful future. well...according to this guy, that's how you count. unfortunately, he has no excuse becoz he knows better. this guy tried to pull a fast one, claiming that he was a 14 yr old homeless orphan, in an effort to enroll in a middle school and play for the football team under a false name. what sucks for him is, he possessed a cell phone that happened to ring in front of school officials and guess who it was? yeah, the lady that remembers every pain she had when she birthed him 21 years ago.

not only is he a stupid con, he also has a history of burglary which means, all they had to do was fingerprint him and his criminal past would have been recalled. from a distance, some may look at this and say he was just trying to play football against a bunch of kids bcoz he had a baby face. i look at it as, for anybody that has a daughter there, i would make sure that he (and any other idiot out there) never gets that close to a middle school again. i'm just saying...

okay, so i was at the hospital earlier today (i'm fine) and i heard a lady get called over the intercom. her last name was overthehill. yeah...i'm not lying. so i started thinking, what is origin of last names? to me it makes since when we are trying to distinguish between people, we associate them with something they do, have done, or location. for example, the convo may go like this:

"hey have you seen jim?"
"he's in jail isn't he?"
"nah, not jim the gangsta, i'm talking about jim the mechanic. my car's messed up!"

you know what i mean. this suggests to me that when people were choosing last names, the overthehill family well...they lived over the hill. yeah. anyway, that got boring so i decided to seek out the most messed up names period and i came across these...enjoy!
